What the service does

hooks.social gives customers public data from TikTok, Instagram, TikTok Shop, YouTube and the Meta Ad Library. Customers reach it through the website, the API, and AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT. Customers pay with prepaid credits.

What we collect

Your account. Your name, email address and, if you set one, a password, which we store only as a hash. For each sign-in we keep the device type, the approximate place (city and country) and the time, so Settings can show where you are signed in.

API keys. We store a hash of each key. The full key is shown once, when you make it.

What you look up. For each call we record the time, what was requested, whether it worked, the credits used, and where it came from (the website, the API, an AI app or an automation). This is your receipt, and it is how we enforce rate limits and keep the service reliable.

Your saved work. Watchlists, boards, snapshots, automations and settings are stored so they are there when you come back.

Product analytics. On hooks.social we measure page views and key actions such as signing up or connecting an AI app, using PostHog in the EU. We link this to your account by an internal id, never your email. Some visits are recorded as session replays to help us fix problems. Everything you type, and secrets such as API keys, is masked before it leaves your browser. If your browser sends Do Not Track, no analytics are collected.

Error reports. When something breaks, technical details of the error are sent to Sentry so we can fix it.

AI apps you connect

When you connect an AI app (for example Claude or ChatGPT) with "Sign in with hooks.social", you choose to let it look up data with your credits and use your watchlist and snapshots. It never sees your password, payment details or API keys, and it cannot buy credits or change your account.

We keep a record of which apps you connected and when. Their sign-in tokens are short-lived or stored only as hashes. You can disconnect an app at any time in Settings, and it loses access on its next call. What the app does with the answers is covered by that app’s own privacy policy.

Platform data

Answers contain public profile, post, comment, ad and search information. That data belongs to the people who published it. Customers are responsible for how they store and use it, including any privacy law that applies to them.

hooks.social is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok, ByteDance, Instagram, Meta or YouTube.

Credits and payments

Credits are prepaid and never expire. Calls that bring nothing back are free.

Payments are handled by our payment provider, Polar. Your card details go to them, never to us. We keep a record of what you bought and when.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that run the service for us: hosting, email delivery, payments, analytics and error reports. Each gets only what it needs to do that job.

How long we keep it

Detailed call records are kept for 90 days. Your purchase and credit history is kept while your account is open. Session replays are kept for 30 days.

You can close your account in Settings. You have 30 days to change your mind, and after that the account and its data are deleted.
